Kathmandu Pokhara Cycling Trip

This is a 5 day mountain bike ride through the country side of Nepal. You will get to experience local lifestyle, landscape, culture and much more in this trip. The terrain is quite hilly all the way to Pokhara, so it’s a lot of up and down riding. It’s a marathon kind of ride. You will be introduced to your guide before starting your trip, and he will explain the details of the trip.

Day 01:
Kathmandu - Nuwakot(Durbar).

The start of the ride will begin slowly due to the busy traffic in Kathmandu. Your guide will lead the way, make sure you stay to the left hand side of the road and follow instructions. The first stop is the small Newari cultural town, Tokha. then climb for 45 min -1 hr to get to top, from top there is 17 km of downhill waiting for you. If you are a good/experienced rider you can take it off road, however we recommend beginers stay on the track. Then there is a small flat section and 10km of up and down till you cross the river. Your lunch will be somewhere by the river. Then it's the last climb to the Nuwakot top, about an hours climb. Nuwakot is a nice, quiet place where you can enjoy the sunset from. Have a look around town when you have time, there is a palace (Darbar)from where our Great-great King Prithivi Narayan Saha planned to capture Kathmandu Valley.
Distance - 60km.
Altitude - 1040m.

Day 02:
Nuwakot - Dadhingbesi

The ride starts with a steep downhill section to a town called Trisuli. From here you will ride for about an 1 hour on up and down terrain, and then there's a big climb to Samari Bhanjyang. (Bhanjyang means 'hilltop' & phedi means 'foothills'). Keep snacks in your backpack because there isn’t any perfect lunch, so lunch could be noddle soup. The ride continues up and down to Dhadingbesi. Here you can enjoy the view of Ganesh Himal (6800m) & Manaslu Himal (8000+m) and the kids along the trail greeting you with namastee or hello.
