Kathmandu Valley Cycling Trip

Day 01:
Kathmandu - Chisapani.

There will be pre trip briefing by your guide before you start your biking trip around Kathmandu valley. To begin, you will be driven up to Danda Gaun, about 1 hour from Thamel, to start the ride to Chisapani. The way contains a mixture of terrains, tracks uphill, flowy single tracks and double tracks, flat sections and technical sections. Before lunch the ride is mostly downhill and after lunch it's mostly uphill. Lunch will be at around 12-1pm in Mulkharka. After lunch there is a big climb of about 2-3 hours to Chisapani. Chisapani is a village with local lodges where we'll spend the night. In the morning you'll have a nice view of the sunrise and surrounding mountains.

Altitude - 2210m.

Day 02:
Chisapani - Nagarkot.

We'll start to ride around 8am, after breakfast. This route is similar to the one ridden on the first day, with a mix of double tracks, single tracks, technical sections, uphill and flat sections. Before lunch you will ride through Sivapuri National Park, which is mostly downhill. After lunch there will be a climb to Nagarkot on jeep tracks. Nagarkot is famous for its sunrises, mountains and beautiful landscape. There will be plenty of opportunities to observe local lifestyle and culture and for photos along your ride.
Distanse - 38km.
Altitude - 2000m.

Day 03:
Nagarkot - Dhulikhel.

Again we'll start to ride by 8am, after breakfast. The terrain to Dhulikhel is all mixed, up and down,flat,downhill and uphill. We'll take a packed lunch today. The ride will be go through villages, a small pine forest and ricefields. There will be plenty of opportunities for photos on the ride.
Distance - 40km.
Altitude - 1540m.

Day 04:
Dhulikhel - Balthali via Namobuddha.

Same morning routine. The ride starts with double tracks with occasional single tracs, both of mixed terrain. Days highlight is a monastary called Namobuddha, as well as the magnificent view of the landscape.From Namobuddha the ride is a little downhill, then an up and down kind of track to Balthali village. Note: you will see a huge diversity of vegitation.
Distance - 28km.
Altitute - 1580m.

Day 05:
Balthali - Godhawari via Lakuri Bhanjyang.
The day starts with a nice rolling jeep track through villages and farms. Be careful on your ride and keep to the left as there will be traffic at times. There is one major climb and hilly terrain to Godhawari. Godhawari is a quiet place, very green with a picnic spot and botanical garden. Hopefully there will be time when we arrive to check these out.

Altitude - 1510m.

Day 06:
Godhawari - Kathmandu via Rajkulo

The day starts with a downhill road for a short time and then turns into a very narrow single track for a while. There is a suspenson bridge to cross, the only one in the whole trip, so enjoy it. The remainder of the trip is up and down to Kathmandu.
Distance - 31km.
Altitude - 1350m.
